One question that some americans may be asking is why do people who owe child support not get to receive a government stimulus check? With the effects of coronavirus crippling a lot of families and businesses financially shouldn’t everyone be able to get help? In 2020 and 2021 the US Government issued stimulus checks to every us citizen in hopes of providing temporary financial relief. This was great news but there were a few catches though. One of those catches stated that if a individual owed child support they would not receive a stimulus check. The money instead would be applied to pay off the outstanding child support balance.

I Owe Child Support But I Still Have Bills To Pay. I Need Help Too!

It’s understood 100% that a child’s welfare should be #1 priority. Don’t take the title of this post the wrong way. This is just a gripe that many people have that some view as a valid point.
